Dear Carnation Families,
It’s hard to believe we are already wrapping up our first month of school! Students are settling into routines, classrooms are engaged with learning, and it’s exciting to see the growth already underway. Most students in grades 1–5 have completed their initial i-Ready diagnostic assessments in reading and math, giving teachers helpful information to guide instruction and support each learner’s growth this year.
Please also remember to regularly visit the school website and the PTA website for the most current information.
In partnership,
Steve Lesco
Principal, Carnation Elementary

New Playground Equipment
Our PTSA recently provided our school with a new WhirlyQ Spinner for the playground, and it has quickly become a favorite among our students. To ensure it is safe and enjoyable for everyone, we are in the process of creating clear, common-sense rules for its use, which we will share with our community soon. At the same time, we are revising and developing kid-friendly rules for all playground equipment and games. Once finalized, Mr. Del Rosso and Ms. Eaton will be teaching these expectations to all students so that everyone understands how to play safely and responsibly. These updates will be included in our next community communication—stay tuned!

Curriculum Night Feedback
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 18th. It was wonderful to see so many families in the building. Your input helps us continue to make events like this meaningful and supportive for our school community.
Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts by completing our short feedback form: Curriculum Night Feedback Form
Assembly last Friday - Pacific Science Center

Last week, our PTSA brought the Pacific Science Center to Carnation Elementary for an unforgettable Rad Reactions assembly! Students were captivated by live science experiments and hands-on demonstrations that made learning both fun and interactive. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible, your support truly brings science to life for our students!
Special thanks to the Yearbook Club for capturing these memorable moments in photos. We’re grateful for their dedication in helping share the excitement with the entire school and community.
