​Welcome to Carnation Elementary! Whether you are a returning family or joining our community for the first time, I am excited to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year.

 

As I begin my second year as principal of Carnation Elementary, I am incredibly grateful to be part of this community. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to get to know our students, staff, and families and to experience firsthand what makes Carnation such a special place. Our strong relationships, dedicated staff, supportive families, and incredible students create a school community where people genuinely care for one another and where every child is known and valued.

 

At Carnation, we believe in a child-centered, learning-focused education. Our mission is to be a safe, inclusive learning community that nurtures and empowers every student, family, and staff member. That mission continues to guide our work each day. We are committed to creating a strong sense of belonging for every student while maintaining high expectations for learning and growth. We want our students to feel safe taking risks, learning from mistakes, celebrating successes, and becoming increasingly confident and independent learners.

 

I learned a great deal during my first year at Carnation, and I am excited to build on that foundation as we continue strengthening our school together. I remain committed to being a visible and consistent presence throughout the school, building relationships with students and families, and working alongside our staff to provide the best possible experience for every child.
