CE 3rd graders have been diving into the exciting world of innovation and technological advances! One thrilling topic they've been exploring is the amazing evolution of the phone. Thanks to our incredible community, we got to borrow a variety of phones for the students to see and explore firsthand! Check out some photos and quotes capturing the students' enthusiastic reactions to using the phones and showcasing some of their fantastic work.

Quotes from students:

  • "The flip phone was my favorite because the buttons were small and you could flip it up and down."

  • "I liked the brow box phone. It was in great condition. I liked that you could adjust the speaker."

  • "I think the candlestick phone was too tall. It is easier to use if it is smaller and lighter."

  • "The direct dial phone is the best because it was easy. Well before what we have now."

  • "I like the stapler phone!"  (laughing)

  • "The rotary phone had a nice texture and felt nice when you spun it. It sounded good and was satisfying to watch."

  • "The slide phone popped up so you could type like a computer!"

  • "The phones were yellow from the sun! WHAT?!"

  • "The silver gold one was really fancy with the details and colors."

  • "The rotary phone would take forever with the multiple turning and waiting!"

  • "One of my favorite ones was the one that looked like a tiny computer."

  • "That is amazing!"

  • "Now I get why phones now are called smartphone. They are really a computer that lets you call people. Phones used to be just for calls! How boring."

  • "I want a phone like this... But that can move with me like my actual phone"

  • "What if you forgot the number, you just dialed?"
